Wing Chun

I have been studying Wing Chun on and off for around 2 years. It is a southern Chinese martial art that focuses on infighting or fighting in close. It teaches that moves should come from relaxed movements because a relaxed muscle is more efficient in its movement and much faster. The moves move very fast. It is simple and direct without all the flashy and acrobatic moves. It is just taught to work and techniques should be efficient in movement such as moving from point A to point B in the quickest and most direct movement. Wing Chun was popularized by Grandmaster Ip Man. Read about him here. Many actors and celebrities has studied Wing Chun such as Sammo Hung, Jackie Chan, and the most celebrity of all Bruce Lee. Bruce credits his love of martial arts to Ip Man and Wing Chun. He even created his own style based on Wing Chun principles, Jeet Kune Do. Read the specifics of Wing Chun here.

As a special treat I’m adding grandmaster Ip Man’s demo of the 3 wing Chun hands forms and the wooden dummy form. Enjoy true martial arts and true Wing Chun

Me doing the first Wing Chun form, Sil Lim Tau( Little Ideal). Not too good but it was my first try at doing a KungFu video.
